Mindfulness
What is mindfulness?
Mindfulness is a philosophy for and a particular style of meditation. It refers to moment-to-moment awareness of one’s experience, without judgment. It helps reduce stress, anxiety, depression and cope with myriad mental health and lifestyle problems.
Who is it good for?
Anyone who wants to learn how to cope with life’s difficulties and build resilience. Studies show that the practice of mindfulness helps reduce stress, anxiety, depression, chronic pain and increase empathy, self-compassion and gratitude.
How does it work?
I conduct mindfulness training for beginners which includes teaching about mindfulness and guided meditations. I also provide informational talks and workshops on topics such as
- mindfulness and mental health
- mindfulness in the workplace
- raising mindful children
- mindfulness and self-compassion
My practice of mindfulness is based on the Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction program (MBSR) developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn and teachings of Jack Kornfield.
