Individual/Personal Counseling
We all get stuck sometimes– stuck in a life that is not going the way we want, stuck in feelings of unworthiness, loneliness and helplessness or stuck in repetitive patterns that no matter how much we try, we can’t seem to break. In individual counseling – a journey towards self-directed transformation – we start by acknowledging and honoring the “stuckness”, and together find a way forward. A way that is in line with your most important goals and values.
When to seek individual counseling?
If you are dealing with anxiety, depression, grief or life transitions such as a break-up, new job or new city, individual counseling can provide healing and catalyze self-growth.
How does it work?
We explore significant thoughts, feelings and past experiences, develop a roadmap for change and work through present challenges to get there. We might also explore how your relationships in various contexts contribute to your difficulties, work with difficult feelings, and learn to be mindful. The process of individual counseling however, is infinitely adaptable. It is based on what works for you. You bring your expertise on your life and I will bring my expertise on human behavior and relationships, and change becomes possible!
My treatment philosophy for individuals is based on Emotion-focused therapy (EFT) and Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT).
